I love love love dressing up my dining room for Halloween! I started doing this about 3 years ago and each year I add a few things here & there. One year I will change it up and do an entirely different theme but for now, I am obsessed with this Classy & Creepy Halloween Tablescape! Black & white is so chic and timeless, It’s hard to get tired of it!
Start with your canvas
I started by purchasing a few yards of fabric at Joanns Fabric store. I was drawn to the black & white stripe and then I created the rest based on that pattern. My table was too long for the 2 yards to cover it entirely, so I strategically placed the fabric down at an angle. From there it’s all about layers! I decided I’d either go with black chargers or large black, plastic plates, when low and behold I found these ADORABLE spider web placemats at Hobby Lobby.
I have white plates so that was a no brainer. If you don’t, the dollar store has solid white plates that will work just fine. My salad plates are Royal Stafford. I found them at Home Goods a few years back and they are by far, my favorite piece of this tabelscape!! They add the perfect touch of elegance. I haven’t been able to find them since, but I will link some others that are very similar below.
Layering is key
Remember I mentioned ‘layers’ above? The Black Ramekins were purchased on amazon, where I get everything else in my life, ha! I thought they would be the perfect addition to the place setting. I found these cute little black skeletons at the Dollar Tree but you could also fill the ramekins with candy, black & white confetti, ghost peeps, the options are endless!
I found these sparkly crows and owls at the Dollar Tree last year and happened to spot them again this year. I set a few on the table and a couple in my chandelier.
Other than that I just threw some black leaves, confetti and an old black frame lying around, and called it good! I think when it comes to Halloween, more is more! haha. In other words, don’t be afraid to layer, layer, layer! Choose your color scheme and have fun with it!
OH! and aren’t these Mummy Apples so fun??
They’re easy to make as well. Click here for the recipe!
And finally, linked below are all the items that I picked out for you, to create your own Classy & Creepy Halloween Tablescape.
